Factor Bicycles have made since officially launching in 2016.
Factor Bicycles was founded by Rob Gitelis, a former pro rider. Rob’s experience in bicycle manufacturing and design dates back to 1996. Rob was the go-to guy for some of the top bike brands. Rob yearned for the freedom to build bikes without boundaries; this is the impetus for Factor Bicycles.
In 2019 Graham Shrive joined Factor Bicycles as the new Engineering Director. Shrive comes with almost 15-years of design and engineering experience in the cycling industry including as Director of Engineering at Cervelo. Shrive said: “Factor Bikes is extremely unique in the global bicycle industry. Our decision making is guided by what is best for the rider above all else, and with every member of the management being past and present bike racers, that makes for zero compromise in the products.”
Every Factor bicycle is made to order in their own factory. Factor Bikes have end to end control over the entire process, from design, to testing, to manufacture and quality assurance.
With a combined 15 years of experience, our highly experienced bike fitters utilize our Retul Muve bike to dial in your bike Fit and select all of the correct components including Black Inc handlebars and stem, seat post, crank length and saddle to ensure your new Factor Bike is built to your exact requirements.
With the title of the World Tours’ most aero road bike in the Factor Ostro VAM, Factor has again proven they are at the forefront of bicycle technology. The Factor Ostro VAM’s aero performance is paired with handling that the likes of World Tour Pro’s Chris Froome and Romain Bardet haveactively sought to ride. Come into our Melbourne store to check them out.
Factor bikes have not limited their focus to the world tour. The new Factor Monza road bike uses the Factor Ostro’s technology and applies it to a simplified design and manufacturing process to create a bike with a slightly less aggressive front end and a more economical price point. The Factor Monza is the race bike for athletes who need the one bike to race on Sunday and train on Monday. Factor Monza is the perfect bicycle for the Melbourne road bike scene.
A similar approach is taken to the Factor Ostro Gravel. Modern gravel racing requires all of the aerodynamics of a road bike, with the greater tyre clearance and handling for technical terrain to provide a category winning gravel bike. The Factor Ostro gravel has been ridden to numerous wins on the international gravel scene as well as home town Melbourne gravel races amongst mates!
