Faster By Design
The Factor ONE SP is the ONE built for racing against the clock. Designed specifically for time trials and triathlon, it pairs the extraordinary aerodynamic performance of the ONE with the new ONE SP Bar to create a versatile time trial and triathlon configuration to give riders the position, adjustability and control required for sustained, high-speed efforts.
And it is exceptionally fast. In developing the ONE SP, we uncovered another expression of the ONE platform’s potential: a new speed solution and another step in the ongoing process of finding the fastest possible answer for racing against the clock. It’s a remarkable demonstration of the ONE platform’s potential, and a new option for riders whose priority is simple: covering the distance in the shortest possible time.
Natural (RE)Evolution
The ONE SP was a natural progression from the development of the ONE and the aerodynamic potential our engineers uncovered along the way. The ONE’s distinctive front end was the result of an extensive development process, with multiple iterations of the fork, head tube and front-end architecture explored to understand how each element interacted with the rider and the airflow around the complete bike. That process ultimately led to the ONE’s unmistakable wide-stance fork and integrated front end, a solution developed not for visual distinction, but because it delivered the level of aerodynamic performance we wanted.
With the success of the design established, attention naturally turned to what else the platform could become. The same aerodynamic potential that makes the ONE exceptionally fast on the road made it an obvious foundation for a dedicated TT front end. Developing the ONE SP Bar allowed us to optimise the rider position for sustained efforts against the clock while retaining the speed of the underlying ONE platform. The result is a remarkably versatile time trial and triathlon configuration: fast and agile enough for short and uphill time trials, yet aerodynamic, adjustable and efficient enough for long-distance triathlon.
Aerodynamics, Applied
Aerodynamic performance is ultimately determined by more than the bike alone. The ONE SP builds upon the ONE’s progressive geometry with a cockpit designed to accommodate the forward, compact position of the modern time trial and triathlon rider. Extensive adjustment allows the position to be tuned for different riders and disciplines, from short, technical and uphill time trials to sustained efforts over long-distance triathlon courses.
Advanced Computational Fluid Dynamics allowed our engineers to explore hundreds of aerodynamic iterations during the development of the ONE, long before physical prototypes reached the wind tunnel. That same knowledge underpins the ONE SP. Simulation, interpretation, and real-world validation work together to optimise the complete system for the demands of racing against the clock.
Aero-optimised tyre clearance
Frame and fork optimised for up to 34 mm tyre width, as measured. Designed to smooth out airflow around the wheels and reduce the drag.
ONE SP Bar
Purpose-developed for the ONE, the ONE SP Bar uses high-modulus carbon fibre to deliver the rigidity and precise handling demanded at race speed. It attaches directly to the fork head through a four-bolt interface, creating a clean, highly integrated connection between cockpit and bike.
The system offers an optional 10 mm of stack at the bar attachment, while the extensions can accommodate up to 35 mm of additional stack in 5 mm increments to help riders refine their position. Internal cable routing maintains the ONE SP’s clean aerodynamic profile, with compatibility for electronic groupsets and disc brakes. A dedicated Black Inc Computer Mount completes the system, with support for both Garmin and Wahoo computers.
Any faster, and it would be illegal. Mission Complete.
The ONE SP offers road bike handling, agility, and low weight, with the advantage of a super-aero time trial or triathlon position. It’s the best of both worlds for anyone looking to find their fastest speed.
It is available in Chrome, Onyx Black, Nimbus Grey, and Silverstone and comes in sizes 47 to 58 cm.
